The brief was to build a shaft which has opened up in the ground. Actors playing a rescue team were to para-sail down. We would then cut to a studio build cave.
It was impractical to actually excavate a real hole. It would have needed reinforcing for health and safetly, plus the location had a lot of bedrock. Instead I found an existing bomb hole with a single sided ridge, perfect for the operation to be mounted from. We then built the other side of the hole to meet it.
